Bodog have just announced their continued shirt sponsorship of Scottish League One side Ayr United FC. This will be the fourth year Bodog will be featured on this Scottish League Ones’s club shirts, and Calvin Ayre couldn’t be happpier.
Calvin Ayre issued a statement noting the highs and lows of the relationship, which has seen the team come achingly close to making the Scottish Cup finals while also enduring the pain of relegation. “It’s not easy being an Ayr United fan but, equally, it’s never boring and there’s nothing worse than boring.”
Ayre said he felt “a big year ahead” for the Honest Men, noting that bookies had the club at 20:1 odds to take the League 1 title and vowing that he was “having some of that.”
Ayr United commercial manager Graeme Miller said it was “great to have a consistent sponsor” backing the club, especially “one that is born out of passion rather than purely financial consideration.” Miller’s view of the field suggests the League is “wide open this year,” leaving the opportunity for promotion well within Ayr’s grasp.
