I today attended IGaming Forum in Stockholm as I thought a conference that has been running 5 years straight, has to be quality and it was. There were a lot of senior managers attending (suit & tie event) and the topics that was mostly discussed were:
– Social gaming and/vs Social gambling and the difference between them, both from a marketing/customer perspective but also from a legislative perspective.
– The development/explosion of mobile gambling where it was interesting to hear that some of the bigger sportsbooks now see more than 50% of their turnover being generated via mobile. The growing popularity of mobile casino (which is expected to generate 70% of turnover in 3-5 years time) and the challenges and opportunities that goes with it.
-The legal landscape, in EU and Sweden and what can be expected in terms of timetable for legislation to pass and be implemented and what the conditions for multiple licenses.
All in all, a good, informative day, while also networking with people in the industry and those (politicians) that have and will have a massive impact on it.
