KATE HOLDING BABY WEARING BLUE COSTS BOOKIES FORTUNE

Leading bookmaker Coral have been hit with losses of over £100k following a major gamble on Kate leaving the hospital holding the baby and wearing a blue dress.

Coral had offered even money on Kate emerging from the hospital holding the baby but punters backed it into 4/6, and Coral also offered 5/1 about Kate wearing a blue dress but that was also well backed into 3/1 favourite.

“We have been given a right Royal roasting today to the tune of £100k as punters piled their cash on Kate holding the baby and wearing blue.” Said Simon Clare, Coral Spokesman.

George is the favourite with Coral to be the baby’s name at 7/4 after a huge gamble with over 10,000 bets placed today on that name.

BY GEORGE! WHAT A RIGHT ROYAL GAMBLE

Leading bookmaker Coral has slashed the odds on George being the chosen name for the Royal baby after they were bombarded with bets since news emerged that the Duchess of Cambridge has given birth to a boy.

The betting firm has cut the odds on the baby Prince being called George into 7-4 from 4-1 after more than 10,000 bets were placed in the space of just twelve hours. James is the 3-1 second favourite, whilst Alexander and Louis have both been installed at 6-1 and 10-1 respectfully.

“The majority of punters were left shell-shocked after losing out on predicting the gender of the Royal baby but now they are coming back for more on the future King’s name. Bets have been flooding in on the name George since the news of a baby boy emerged, and should the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge opt for that name, the money we made on the baby being a boy will go straight back into the punters’ pockets”, commented Coral’s Nicola McGeady.

GEORGE THE 4/1 FAVOURITE NAME FOR ROYAL BABY BOY

** Bookies Saved A Royal Payout On Girl As Boy Is Born

The news that the Duchess of Cambridge has given birth to a baby boy has saved bookmakers a payout of over £250,000 according to Coral, and George has been installed as the 4-1 favourite to be the future King’s first name.

A baby girl had been gambled on down to 1-2 favourite with Coral ever since Kate seemed to let slip the baby’s gender when on a public walkabout. In addition to this, the name Alexandra was also a sizeable gamble two weeks ago and was the 9-4 favourite this morning to be the Royal baby’s name.

Punters are now turning their attention to the name of the future King, and Coral has slashed the odds on Kate and William naming their first-born child George into 4-1 from 9-1. James is the second favourite at 5-1, whilst Henry is a 10-1 chance.

“After a long wait, we can finally breathe a sigh of relief as the huge gamble on a Royal baby girl turned out to be misplaced. Punters are now hoping to get their revenge on the bookies by predicting the name of the baby and George is the name that is already proving most popular”, commented Coral’s Nicola McGeady.
